Welcome to Lane Farm Holiday Cottages, two beautifully refurbished, four star Gold Award winning cottages set on a working sheep and beef farm, situated at the northern tip of the Peak District National Park, in the picturesque village of Holme, on the outskirts of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.
Mount View and Trough Cottage give guests the opportunity to enjoy a stay in luxury self-catering accommodation, with stunning moorland views. We are within easy reach of the Derbyshire Dales and the Yorkshire Dales, the major cities of Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield, and Huddersfield is just 10 miles away.
Three miles down the road lies Holmfirth where the popular BBC TV programme ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ was filmed, five miles away in the Colne Valley, ITV’s ‘Where the Heart Is’ was filmed and within 20 miles is Halifax where filming of ‘Happy Valley’ and ‘Last Tango in Halifax’ take place.
In 2014 the opening stages of the 2014 Tour De France passed our door, and one of the most iconic images of that day as cyclists travelled over Holme Moss was taken only metres away. We have since regularly found ourselves on the routes for the Tour De Yorkshire and Tour of Britain. Check out this video of the Holme Moss Grand Depart climb where the cyclist passes Lane Farm Holiday Cottages at 3.31 minutes.
The Upper Holme Valley provides some of the finest walking country imaginable; if you choose to spend your holiday exploring the countryside on foot you can take in the reservoirs, moorland and Black Hill section of the Pennine Way right on the doorstep.
The Holme Valley is the perfect place to sample the culinary delights of the local area here restaurants pride themselves on sourcing local produce and presenting an eclectic mix of flavours from Holme and around the world.
This is the place to do everything or nothing… a complete Home from Holme.
